last chance: Lovely Giveaway

Today is the last day to share your favorite flower via a comment to be entered into the "Lovely Giveaway". Tomorrow I will be posting the winner :) So don't miss your chance at winning some cool stuff from me to you.

so sweet

And today I wanted to share this pretty orchid with you. She sits quietly atop our kitchen table. Did you know there are orchids that actually have a scent? I was at home depot a couple of years ago and I fell in love with this spindle like orchid that really smelled like chocolate! I kid you not. I just don't remember what it was called. The nursery lady had to explain the whole thing to me. I was just passing along and all of a sudden a sweet chocolaty fragrance captured my full attention! hahaa. Did you know my other favorite chocolate smelling plant/herb is the chocolate mint herb? Smells exactly like Andes Chocolates. So so so good and yummy!

wow. i must be craving chocolate :P

i love almond joys, the cookie in the twix, butterfingers, baby ruths, symphony bars, anything with almonds and nuts in it and andes chocolates.

i want some chocolate now. hahaa

see ya tomorrow!

I love that mint too! Ha! Use to have it in some window boxes at a home I lived in five years ago. ;) Wanting it again. Saw it yesterday with my husband and he mentioned it... maybe I will get it again this year now that my husband likes it too... ;)

maybe you should ask for favorite chocolates too! :) I like anything in it with nuts and I am more of a dark chocolate than milk. but when it comes right down to it--I'll take anything!

what lens did you use to shoot that orchid? I just got a 50mm 1.4 and I am having a bit of trouble using it.

my fave flower is the plumeria. first fell in love with it on my first trip to kauai when i was 16 and have adored it ever since. it comes in yellows, pinks and purples and oranges and smells like heaven. its delicateness {is that a word? LOL} makes you appreciate it all the more.

I am a Gerbera Daisy fan. I have several planted in my yard in various colors. They are always so vibrant! If you like scented plants you should hunt down some scented geraniums. They come in all sorts of scents including mint and chocolate!

Passion flower - definitely! I have a photo of one as my desktop. They're just gorgeous, the purple is so purple and they look a bit like a sea anemone. No good as a cut flower, but wait a couple of months and you might have some great passionfruits :)

The chocolate scented orchid is an Oncidium - Sherry Baby. It's one of my favorites, too.
