art on a page

hey loves!
Happy monday :)
i hope you had an amazing weekend. i did. i managed to pause and take a break. a nap even ;P ooooh that felt gooooood.
all refreshed and bushy tailed.... ready to rock and roll!
On thursday i had made some cookies for mr.handsome's co-workers (they are totally the BEST). so i picked them to be my valentine's because i'm a firm believer is such cuteness and well, i work by myself so i can't very well be my own valentine right?! hahaaa!
i had to package them in the cutest stuff so i used this month's Kenner Road kit to embellish the boxes i put the cookies in.

These are for the girls:
Cookie boxes 2

and even the boys got a little cute xo:
Cookie boxes 1

so off went the mister with a bag full of goodies.... i wonder how he feels giving away such cute stuff. and still be all manly? hahaa! ahhhhh... i love that man. sigh*

looking back through last year's photo files i came across some pictures i took of my 30th birthday. i felt so happy looking back on that day i just had to make a really sweet page about it. The day was filled with fresh sunflowers ( our wedding day flowers), handmade paper garlands, and pom poms, my favorite strawberry & banana cake from my favorite chinese bakery ( i had them draw a big red heart on the cake, it was the prettiest! i think that's all i want on my cakes from now on!) and of course i was surrounded by my favorite people : family and friends. LOVE!

sep 15
I think this is my favorite page because:
the pennant garland
crazy sewing
a dainty doily managed to make it into the page :)
crazy spray paint splatters
and the cute butterfly & buttons framing the photo
swoon*

i was also going through my wedding photos and found one with me and my dad... aww... he looks kinda sad. he was walking me down the aisle. ready to give me away.

love today
precious
srsly
another happy day for me and the mister.
that ribbon is the exact ribbon that i bought to wrap my bouquet for my wedding. how cool is that? it also came in the kit. i totally think that it was meant to be. i saved the ribbon from my wedding and have always wanted to do something with it. so happy with this.

and just because sometimes art needs a place to live... it settled here, on this fun page.
time stands still

i just started cutting a few triangles. the pretty bright colors are so simple and sweet. i had seen this all over the design world and wanted to experiment with it. so i sewed triangles, i splattered spray paint and added the funky triangles all over the page. and of course it goes with the picture. a photo i took back in collage with a large format camera, and some multiple exposure shots= fun times.

so thankful for making time to add art to a page.

let it happen :)

"R" is for rest

rest

lately i've had all sorts of fuzzy dreams.

sometimes i'm running away from something
sometimes i'm dancing and having fun
sometimes i'm in a foreign country, living and helping little ones
sometimes i'm just thinking the day over
sometimes i'm a mom
sometimes i act like i don't care
and even sometimes i'm just processing the time through
but when i wake up it's hard to remember everthing
i hate when i have a good idea. or i think of something brilliant and wake up to nothing.
empty little head.
i don't like to forget.
but it is what it is.
i guess that's what makes dreaming a little more fun
what comes next, you just never know.

today.
i wish it was saturday
i wish i had a frap.
i wish we lived in italy
i wish i could visit an amazing estate sale
i wish i was something else
i wish i could forgive and forget
i wish i had a bouquet of peonies
and i wish i could have time to make time to relax.

what am i waiting for ?
ah.
i just don't know.
it's all a little fuzzy

treasure love

still enjoying our day trip to SF even after almost a month. I'm not usually one for mini's or even journaling but this was a fun little mix. I love that the pages are so small... you're done so quickly. i think i took more time printing the pictures than putting this little mini together hahaa! :)

it just cannot explain just how precious this little mini is to me.
i quickly finished a few pages and ran to show the mister. because it matters that he likes it. okay, so the pictures of him in the book he's not too excited about. but hot dang... that man is hot stuff :)

a small treasure

is in this little kit.

treasure book

treasure kit

dainty embellishments

small treasures

completely inspired by a delightful trip to SF. Tags, and labels and slide frames...and my favorite, a cute little garland made from vintage sheet music. *swoon* this can either dress up your little mini book or add it as decor in your home. Either way i bet it will look both fancy and sweet. :)

The truth is, i bought a huge pack of the travel line from Making memories back when I was brainstorming for wedding invitation ideas Jan of 09. and i thought i would use this paper line to make my invites. well, i just don't think i was ready to make 150 wedding invitations by hand. :) call me crazy. but i designed and printed my own invitations anyway. but it all worked out. and so i found my paper pack over the weekend, knowing for sure i would use the papers to make a mini kit for our recent trip up to SF. and i think it was meant to be xoxo

When i found the paper pack my little heart melted with the possibilities of this little kit. I completely was hoarding the pack. hoping to never use it. never let it go. but thankfully, i think it looks even better with the rest of the small treasures in the kit. it seems they all get along just right ;)

4 are now available in the shop here.
The cost is just a little bit more because of the handmade embellies i carefully and lovingly made for this kit.
hope you find this little treasure to be just as adorable as i think it to be.
i will post my mini as examples this week.
xoxo

mr.butterfly.

peek

I've been saving some of my scraps again to punch out shapes while watching tv. with this little guy, i tried to sew him into place but he kept moving around. he ended up too far to the left, then to the right.
well work with me mr.butterfly!
gah!

and so. he met my mini stapler.
bwahahaa.
>)

perfect.

right in the middle where he should be.
*smiles*

this is just a peek to a kit that i am putting together. i am wanting to make a little mini book for our quick trip to SF. and i think this little embellishment is going to fit perfectly. sweet. I'm going to be adding them to my etsy shop this week.
coolness. hope you like!

happy tuesday :)
