Simple & Sweet

I love paper
so so so much. i can't ever throw the left over bits and pieces away.
it's a sin
it's to delish to let them disappear into the trash

i like to sit in front of the tv and punch shapes out of the pretty piles of paper.
i like to make garlands. make things. to look at. to enjoy.



it's silly but to me it's such a thrill to make a string of pretty paper and let it sway in a small corner of the room.
all pretty and such.
it makes a big difference.
special.
simple and sweet
indeed.

the shop is finally updated. there is a sale on a select few garlands.
and a sale on the cute valentines goodies still left.

I had bought some extra sassafras lass papers and as i was going through my paper pile i found a bundle of them. So i thought goodness i should make a couple of the pretty garlands i made for this same page. it turned out super cute!

color it is

yesterday... i was happy with black and white.
then today.
i found a white hair in my black head of hair.
i don't like white so much anymore.

so i plucked that little sucker out and gave it to mr.handsome.
i told him he gave it to me :)
hahaa. poor guy.
kinda gross, but that's love xoxo

so today it's all about color and a little sneak peak into my almost finished studio.



this little cutie was only $1 at the farmer's market. a dollar has never looked so good. love the red and yellow together. so pretty



then there's some pretty thrifted fabrics I've been hoarding.



and here is my little closet in the studio. I love the way the color pops!

Sometimes just looking at the color around the studio is enough of an inspiration. I think I purposefully leave stuff out just to look at :) ooooh pretty.



and because sometimes i do like to pretend i read... here are some pretty books :)
i just look at them though. hahaa. ( mr. handsome let me buy some more little people for $2 at the farmer's market yesterday. do you see them in the lower right hand corner by the camera? look. they're waving :)

So today has been pretty busy, had to take the mister to the airport today and have a massive amount of work to do.
not complaining, it should keep me busy while I'm all lonely here. sigh*
you wanna come over?

I've got my studio and all i need is a pal :)
oh. and starbucks. I'll buy if you fly.... what are you gonna have? hmm? *smiles*

it's plain black and white today

actually. black is one of my fav colors. the absence of color is cool to me. i also have a surprising crush on white now. we (mr.handsome) just finished putting some white flooring in my newish studio and well, i LOVE it. I'm so excited! look at my cute tarjey boots on my new flooring!



We're still setting everything up but I will just say it's looking great :) xo

so my little sis was married back in Jan. (is she not just the cutest?!) That's us at her wedding doing a cheesy prom pose hahaa! i love her. xoxo

So we hit off the festivities with a little bridal shower. I was happy to nominate myself for a cute candy bar. ( so i can't help myself, i love candy hahaa! it was more for me ; )

SO here's what i came up with:



I made some big pom pom's, cute little mini garlands, added some candles and of course black and white candies.
( york peppermint, sno caps, white m&m's, hershey's kisses and hugs )



I even made heart shaped stickers from some old scrapbook paper ( i'm thinking 7gypsies?) to seal the candy bags.



Don't doilies just make everything better? :)



I got this idea for the jar decor after going to anthro and receiving a gift wrap kit (christmas time). Inside the kit there were felt circles that when grouped together they made this cute pattern. I loved it! I quickly put together these to top off each jar.

And of course, still not over my garland crush. xoxox

had to make a few garlands that I will be adding to my belladrummer etsy shop for a good price of course *wink*wink*
Butterflies, more cute little pom pom's and some circle's and hearts to add a special touch.





Aren't they cute? So simple and sweet. i love the black and white details.
We had a good time filling our little bags full to the brim.
My sister loved it so much she decided to add this candy bar to her wedding reception.
Ah, good times.

wake up

remember how yesterday i was all gun ho about waking up early to get some art done.
the rest of the day i was dreaming about SLEEP. srsly. i went to bed at about 7ish (for a wee nap) then asked the mister to wake me up in a half hour and the next time i woke up it was 10:30 pm!

but the mister said he came to wake me up both at 8 and 8:30! and with a kiss no less.xo *swoon*
he said i was awake and said i would get up. I DON'T REMEMBER any of it!
oh dear.
so i got up and was WIDE AWAKE o _O at 10:30 pm.
i made these little packages for all the paper kits that are sold out! woot woot!

i just finished my morning breakfast. i LOVE texture. not just in my art but even in my food. :)

ps: just to clarify... i didn't intend to spray paint on my carpet on purpose. :) that's my story and i'm stickin' to it!
It's all stained now. it's ugly. totally gross.
but it was too cold to go outside and spray paint. so i did that indoors :)
mr.handsome leads a really adventurous life with me.

i love azul.



woke up early. handsome had an early meeting. and i never went back to bed.
for the record. i don't believe in life before 8 am. i just don't.

but i rolled out of bed knowing today i am headed to the post. and wanted to throw something together to mail off a circle journal i've been hanging onto.

bed head and all. i broke out the paints.
blurry vision and all. i painted with my hands.
and then this page happened. and i like it. and i want to keep it. it makes me feel something.
finally.
hopefully this just pushes me to try my hand at waking up earlier to make room for creative life.
*fingers crossed*

and so i also don't want to pass up the chance to recap on CHA quickly.
I met KL and Dina and they are just fabulous. you must get to know them. I am officially their groupie. i just followed them around CHA like a little puppy. :)
and then i saw heather. and i asked where her other boob was. (aka angie)
and we laughed. and she full frontal hugged me.
i forgave her. ( that's us in the pic. she was making me laugh so that explains my cheesy smile. (my sweater covered up my cute anthro shirt! :(
we made plans to see each other. creative party over at heathers!!!! woot woot! hahaa

I also met the wonderful Mari (finally!!) I didn't recognize her as i was thinking of her like her avatar photo. right? i just stared at her. blank. then she said her name and i quickly realized who she was! lol! Sorry Mari! She was so sweet about it. after all this time knowing each other through the www and finally getting to meet you was such a pleasure. oh dear. so so sweet. (the tag below is compliments of Mari! play along if you wish please) Natalie was doing a demo and i decided to watch and wait to say hi. she kept looking over and i just smiled :) hahaa. she looked at my badge and recognized my name. I wouldn't remember my own name after seeing so many people. I LOVE her work so much and she truly is so inspiring. SO lovely to have met you sweet Natalie! and then there was Lucy from florida*waving hi* she was so nice. She had a bag that she made and i completely admired :) Thanks to all the lovelies that made my day!
